Bridgerton Babydoll Dresses and Break Up Angst - a March 2025 Design Recap
If you are new here, welcome! My name is Noemie, I am a fashion designer and content creator. At the end of each month, I write up a recap of everything I made that month and give you a little insight into my thoughts behind each design; what inspired me, construction notes, the mistakes I made, etc. I then tell you about my plans for the upcoming month!
As always, I cannot believe that I am already writing my March design recap. Although it feels like spring outside (the clocks have just changed and we are experiencing an unseasonable amount of sun for the United Kingdom) I’m still feeling skeptical that we won’t get another wave of cold.
Without further ado, here is everything I made in March!
Bridgerton inspired baby doll dress
If you read my last two monthly recaps you know I like to indulge in a little creative hour of work every day that I can. I definitely did not do it everyday, however I did manage to finish this beautiful dress. She’s over the top, she’s flirty, fluffy and she’s perfect! I actually cannot believe that committing a little bit of time everyday has led me to this incredible creation.
This project was also on my list of things I wanted to make this month (you’d know this if you read my February recap) so I am really glad it has come to fruition. I started it a year ago so it’s so so fun to see it finally done.
Construction notes:
I have made many many pieces with my Bridgerton top pattern. I did change it up a little bit for this dress; the dress opens at the front and not the back. I had to change the pattern up a little bit because the original pattern had the CB on a straight 90 degrees angle, with the bust line parallel to the ground, but because your body tapers inwards the lower it descends from the apex bust line, there ended up being a point at the top of the CB which usually isn’t an issue when the back is finished with eyelets and ribbon.
I bought the hook and eyes tape, velvet piping and ribbon over a year ago so it’s technically free for me to use now. They are from London Trimmings Wholesale Limited.
The fabric was gifted from Rainbow Fabrics a couple of years ago, I unfortunately cannot find it on their website anymore.
Figuring out how to sew the hook eye and tape was the trickiest - you can’t sew it down super close to the edge because the metal bits get in the way.I did have the option of ripping them all out and settling on black ribbons but I felt as though hook and eyes felt much more corset/regency-esque so I hand sewed it down really tightly.
I really really love this dress and cannot wait to do fun shoots with it.
2. Coasters - Pop up at Google!
I originally designed & made these coasters back in December as a gift for my lovely friend Rosie (@rambosphotos) I had more of the fabric laying around so I made more in various colors because I had a pop up at Google for their international women’s day event! I honestly cannot believe I was there!! I love being a woman!!
The coasters are available to purchase here!
Construction notes:
It’s a pretty straight forward coaster. Two circles and a strip for the ruffle.
There is a layer of cotton canvas that interlines the top circle to thicken it a little.
I also trim the ruffle’s seam allowance so it doesn’t create a big dent when turned inside out.
You want to learn how to make these yourself? Keep scrolling my friend <3
3. Custom top for Mac Adams
Mac (_mac.adams_) came to me a few months ago and said he had a show in London for the release of his new single (Place Called Home) so we worked together to make him a custom top. This is the red version of a black top that I made for a fashion show last year and I really love it in red. It’ so unique and definitely a little more disheveled than the pieces I design myself so I really enjoyed the change in scenery.
He also rented the big ruffle skirt for this show!!
Incredible photos by @jayfulleruk
Go stream Place Called Home it’s been on loop for me!!
4. Jan drop in white
This is the January western ruffle skirt order but in white and with a few tweaks. My client chose this beautiful 100% cotton skirt with subtle lines.
Construction notes:
My client had two add ons: the trim at the bottom and a lining because the white cotton was a little see through and she wanted to wear it to work!
The lining is attached to the yoke lining so the inside is super clean.
The lace trim is SO cute, next time I make myself a Jan skirt I may add something similar.
Being able to make these changes to suit each customer is truly my favorite part of what I do.
Both of these add ons cost £30 for those who are interested in making similar tweaks to an order :)
As I’m writing this, I got a photo from the client wearing the skirt so I think it’s safe to say she likes it!!
5. Jan drop in green
Another lovely order! I really love making this skirt specifically in this fabric - I love how smooth the fabric is; cutting it is easy because of the checkered lines, and it comes together so beautifully. If I only had to make this skirt the rest of my life to make a living I would be a happy gal. No photos of the actual skirt because I didn’t put it on but photos of the product here when you select the Green Plaid color.
6. June drop Alice
My lovely friend Alice ordered a June drop in the red gingham! It was made custom to her measurements and I don’t have a photo of her wearing it so here is a photo of me wearing a size small, hope that helps x
These actually come in a bunch of different ginghams, and I’ve yet to try the yellow! You can get them here!
8. ???????
Someone I had been seeing for a couple of weeks told me that they didn’t want to keep seeing me anymore. Naturally I was feeling some type of way and decided that I had to make a cute little bubble skirt to get through the very uncomfortable feelings of being rejected. Instead of feeling good about making something cute I think I was just faced with the reality that not everything works out the way you had imagined.
I know it’s not THAT bad but it’s also just ridiculous???? For context I wanted the hem of the skirt to be BUBBLY. It is limp. Yes I am still talking about the skirt. I know the yellow is a big of an intense one so it’s really hard to get right. The lack of volume is also just shocking. Big bird called and said it wants it’s tail back.
9. Finally, I did tell you I’d show you the finished cat bolster last month, so here she is in all her glory.
Digital sewing Patterns!
Making digital patterns has been a goal of mine for many years so I am super happy to present to you not one but two new digital patterns!!
Tissue box cover
This is one of those silly projects but as the video of me making it has over 100,000 views on instagram I thought I would share the pattern with you in case you wanted to make it yourself :)

2. Ruffle coaster pattern
The ruffle coasters above also have a sewing pattern to be purchased if you’d rather make it yourself! I have so much fun making them whenever I get a chance so I hope you enjoy as well :)

Each pattern comes with written instructions as well as a video tutorial. They are both beginner friendly patterns!
Really really excited to take my business into this direction, please let me know which pattern I should digitize next! I will be making more patterns of my actual designs & clothes, just easing myself into the process!
Things I want to and plan to make in April
Navy blue custom corset order
My lovely best friend Carla is ordering the bow corset, with a few changes! Instead of the ruffles + bows, she wants to have sleeves that fall off the shoulder. Many of my friends don’t have the exact same taste in clothes as I do, so it’s so fun to be able to work together to create garments with elements that I may not naturally gravitate towards, but fits their aesthetic much better.
White skirt order
I have another jan drop white skirt order in white again. My client hasn’t decided whether or not they’ll pick the same fabric as the one I made recently so we’ll see where that goes!
2. Mayu skirt
Many of my friendship have different systems and love languages. Mayu and I’s friendship is very much based acts of service. She feeds me on a regular basis and whenever I see her I go home with a tupperware of food. Once in a while I will make her something. She wanted a simplified version of the jan skirt in green plaid
3. Bubble skirt 2.0
I would love to remake a bubble skirt, this time with less angst x
4. I dreamt this skirt design. In my dream, I was at a workshop sewing these big and small black bows onto a black lace ruffle skirt. I would absolutely love to make it a reality.
A little update on monthly drops
I’m pausing my monthly drops for the time being to focus on a few other projects including digital patterns. I’m not sure when they will be back or if they ever will be in the same capacity. I originally started making them to get more comfortable with the entire process. If you’re an artists or an entrepreneur, you know fear can be a huge mental block when you want to launch something new. The intention behind the monthly drops was to release a new product every month to slowly move past that fear and also improve on the process. I started a mailing list, my monthly recap in written and in photos, improved my editing, copy writing, content roll out and so much more. I’m so so proud of myself for how much better each roll out has been in the past year so it has served its purpose. I will continue to release products as I make them if they are something that I can recreate but I can’t promise it’ll happen monthly. Thank you so so much for your support throughout the past year with it, I have grown SO much and I’m so excited to keep learning and trying new thing!
Thank you for reading until the end my dear friends. Writing out my little thoughts on my designs has been incredibly creative and freeing. I hope you enjoy and I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts, please feel free to comment <3
See you in May!
